ELABORATION Average production per vine: 1,050 Kg
Selection of vines, older than 30 years, from the estates Fontvallestana and El Mas de Gandesa and from the property Massalocans from Batea.
Varieties: 30 % Garnatxa "borruda", 30 % Syrah, 15 % Carignan, 13% Cabernet, 7% Ull de LLebre (Tempranillo) and 5% Merlot.
Soil : Chalky and lime soils, with a low permeability. They are poor in organic materials too.
Vinification: Manual vintage in 20 Kg boxes. A maceration has been done during 22 days.
Fermentation takes places under temperature control at 23º C.
AGEING Wines age during 6 to 8 months in cask, whose wood proportions are, 60% in French oak, 30% in American oak and 10% in Centro - European oak. 12 months in bottle.
PRODUCTION 24.000 bottles.
TASTING NOTE It does show an intense colour with purple shades, some raspberry and black plums aromas or fruits in liquor.
Some tinges of vanilla and cocoa with some spiced notes of clove.
In the mouth it becomes kind and meaty with a good acidity level that does contrast with the warmth of the alcohol and the fine
tannins.
The ending is long and persistent.
Decant before serving.
CONSUMPTION This wine can be consumed during the next 6 years.
